A cross-border shopping platform that gives customers access to premium UK retailers — Selfridges, Harrods, John Lewis, Next, Debenhams, Primark — through a request-then-quote ordering flow, paired with an AI retailer co-pilot that surfaces conversion-driving promotional actions for one-click human approval.

The Platform

Premium UK retailers — Selfridges, Harrods, John Lewis, Next, Debenhams, Primark — don't ship internationally to most of the markets where their products are in demand. Beyond closes that gap. Customers browse a curated catalogue of UK brands inside a single mobile app, assemble an order across multiple retailers, and submit a request. The operations team sources each item, returns a confirmed quote (with shipping and service fees) through the app, and the customer accepts or declines before any payment is taken. Every parcel is tracked through eight discrete stages from request to door.

Beyond
Britain's best, brought to you.
01 · Overview

Beyond connects shoppers in markets without direct UK retailer shipping to brands like Selfridges, Harrods, John Lewis, Next, Debenhams, and Primark — through a curated mobile catalogue and an operations team that handles every parcel from sourcing to doorstep delivery.

02 · The Shopping Experience

Customers tap a retailer brand, browse its products, add an item to their order with size and variant selections, and assemble a multi-retailer cart in a single flow. The cross-border-shipping context is built into every screen — country of origin, retailer attribution per item, and live cart counts across multiple shops at once.

03 · The Order Lifecycle

An order isn't a checkout — it's a request. Submitting one generates a unique reference (GRO-XXXXXXX-XXXX), notifies the operations team, and waits for a quote. The customer is alerted when pricing is set, accepts or declines through the app, and pays only on acceptance. From there, the parcel is tracked through eight discrete stages from sourcing to delivery.

04 · The AI Retailer Co-pilot

The operator dashboard pairs human operators with an explainable AI engine. Each promotional suggestion — discount offers, free-shipping highlights, messaging nudges — comes tagged with a confidence score and a contributing-factors panel showing exactly which signals (dwell time, hover hesitation, cart value, first-time-buyer status) drove the recommendation. A configurable auto-approve threshold lets high-confidence actions execute autonomously while everything below it routes to the human queue. Trigger weights and offer types are tunable inside the dashboard — so commercial strategy shapes AI behaviour without code changes.

The Solution

We engineered Beyond as two coordinated surfaces — a consumer shopping app and an operator dashboard with an AI retailer co-pilot — sharing a single event-driven backend:

  1. 01

    Curated UK Retailer Catalogue

Customers browse premium UK brands — Selfridges, Harrods, John Lewis, Next, Debenhams, Primark — in a single branded grid, with country-of-origin selection and per-retailer product detail pages.

  2. 02

    Request, Quote, Confirm Flow

An order isn't a checkout — it's a request. Customers submit, the operations team sources and prices each item, and a confirmed quote (with shipping and service fees) returns through the app. The customer accepts or declines before any payment. Every order carries a traceable GRO-XXXXXXX-XXXX reference across eight fulfillment stages.

  3. 03

    AI Retailer Co-pilot with Explainability

The operator dashboard surfaces AI-generated promotional suggestions — discount offers, free-shipping highlights, messaging nudges — each tagged with a confidence score and a full explainability panel showing the top contributing signals (dwell time, hover hesitation, cart value, first-time-buyer status). Operators approve or reject with one click, governed by a configurable auto-approve threshold.

  4. 04

    Guardrails, Simulations & Tunable Triggers

A safety-controls layer constrains what the AI can act on, a simulation engine lets operators preview suggestions before they go live, and trigger weights are configurable inside the dashboard — so commercial strategy shapes AI behaviour without code changes.
